In its first 150 years, the State of South Australia
produced, or was home to, many people who either made
significant contributions to the State's lifestyle or gained
National and International recognition for their work. In
1986, the State's sesquicentenary year, the South Australia
Jubilee 150 Board considered it appropriate for these
outstanding people to be permanently commemorated in the form
of the Jubilee 150 Commemorative Walk, a series of bronze
plaques to be set in the paving slabs of the footpath on the
Northern side of North Terrace between King William Street and
Frome Road. |
