Beach Safety:
Safe beach swimming is available year round. There are 35
patrolled beaches along this 70 kilometres stretch of perfect,
clean coastline. A variety of rescue equipment is always on hand.
Please always swim in patrolled surf between the red and yellow
flags.

The Hinterland
Follow the road inland from the Gold Coast's beaches and a
magical world unfolds. A world of tropical rainforests, moutain
villages, and other hidden treasures that are all part of the Gold
Coast Hinterland - the green behind the gold.
Much of the hinterland area is designated National Park, allowing
you to experience the natural beauty of the area first hand on one
of the park's many walking tracks. Browse through the various
museums, art galleries and craft shops, and take time to dine in
one of the many restaurants and cosy tea houses.
For a different perspective of the rainforest, experience The
Treetop Walkway at O'Reilly's Rainforest Guesthouse - open to
the public. Here, 16 metres above the ground , you'll gain a birds
eye view of the forest floor.
