Experience Sydney after dark and its wonderful selection of pubs and clubs, bars, live music, opera and theatre, and cinemas.

  • Start the evening with a cocktail overlooking the harbour at Orbit, or Horizon Bar

  • Get into some serious toe tapping at a live jazz club such as The Basement or Soup Plus, or head to any of the pubs in Balmain

  • Join the beautiful people at the ‘so cool they’re hot’ bars around town such as Establishment, or Hugo’s Lounge, or unleash yourself on the dance floor at one of Sydney’s funky nightclubs in Cockle Bay, or Darlinghurst

  • Catch a live band at one of Sydney’s pubs, take in a theatre performance at the Sydney Opera House or one of the other theatres or play houses, watch a movie, or laugh out loud at one of Sydney’s comedy clubs.

Orbit

Giving new meaning to the expression 'my head is spinning', the Orbit really is asking for trouble by mixing a revolving room with alcohol. High up on the 47th floor of Australia Square, Sydney's only revolving bar offers unsurpassed views over the city and beyond. The 2001: A Space Odssey - inspired bar takes an hour and half to do a 360-degree circuit so hang onto your handbags or you'll be waiting a while between lipstick applications. Don't be alarmed if, after a couple of drinks, you can't find your friends. It's not you, it's the room. A great place to meet a big group or take visitors from out of town. Try a Sunset cocktail, nibble on the free bar snacks then sit back and enjoy the ride.
