The Flying Fox Festival is named after the giant flying fox bats that decorate the Katherine skies throughout the year and fill the trees that line the Katherine River during the time of the festival. As part of the Northern Territory festival circuit, this festival contributes by giving the community and touristsa ubique experience. The flying Fox Fesival has come to traditionally embrace community events, visitors and locals will be treated to a day of fun and excitement. Experience the Dragon Boat Challenge, family fun day, Mayoral Debutante Ball, Art and Craft Awards, Youth Art and Craft Awards, the Grand Street Parade and much more.
